(Although if you are lucky enough to live in a hot climate I have worn my belly warmers when I was living in LA and Hawaii in air conditioning and they work great when the air con messes with your core temperature!)
Remember when your Mom always told you to keep you head warm ---well you also need to keep your belly warm to keep your core temperature up and your overall energy and chi flowing...

Guess what? You can be warm and colourful & support local!
This isnt just a fashion statement! Look funky and be healthy!
As the designer I recommend wearing it under your shirt or layerin it on top, be playful and have fun ---either way keep your midrif warm & toasty! I created this piece over a decade ago because I was always cool when I practiced yoga and as the shirts got shorter and the pants got lower I wanted something to keep that area warm and protected! In my 20's I spent alot of time in Kyoto Japan and maybe somehow I picked up on the Obi ( piece warn with a kimono) And later foudn out about the Haramaki although not consciously it was actually a customer that reminded me about this traditional Japanese design and I thought aha! I knew I was onto something here!
"I often tell my patients "warm up your body". Our culture has developed lots of "cooling habits". Drinking cold drinks or staying in a cool room all result in chilling one's body when we need to do the opposite. Always keep in mind to warm your body and protect your health. Considering all these facts, Haramaki is a very precious product to protect one's body and to stay healthy. I can only - warmly - recommend to use it."
Dr. Akira Kawashima from Tokyo Women's Medical University is a great supporter of haramaki**
If I havent given you enough reasons yet to layer up with your belly warmer then how about the environment?? You can even have an impact on the environment by setting the thermostat a few degrees lower and lowering your overall heating costs when you layer it up!
